The Problems with Textual Traditionalism

My thanks to Jeff and Luke and the gang at Apologia for a quick invite to drive across the Valley and record this program when we had to cancel the DL on Thursday.  Not quite as long as a “jumbo DL,” but with a lot more camera angles!  I lead a discussion on textual criticism and the concept of the “ecclesiastical text,” the theory that “the church” has, in some undefined way, “chosen” one particular textual tradition over all others so that to be truly confessional and truly Reformed, you have to use this text.  I assert such is not only utterly untenable historically speaking (forcing those before us to take positions on issues they simply never faced) but it is grossly damaging to the defense of the faith today.
