Beyond Mega Length Edition of the DL: Textual Critical Topics, Islamic Topics, Response to Theodore Zachariades

Went two hours and eleven minutes today (sorry!), but had a lot to cover. Too many topics to list, but basically a lot on the new Tyndale House Greek New Testament, textual critical topics, Muslim apologetics issues, the Qur’an, and then responses to Dr. Theodore Zachariades on the topic of the decree of God and the will of man, i.e., the topic of compatibilism.  Only program this week as I am headed for St. Charles for my annual pilgrimage!

Thanksgiving as a Christian Trait, Free Will, the Decree of God, and Theodore Zachariades

As it is two days before Thanksgiving we started off with about 20 minutes of thought, based mainly on Ephesians 5, on that vital topic, and then moved on to a discussion of Chapter 9 of the London Baptist Confession of Faith, “On Free Will,” in light of the recent debate and an article from Dr. Zachariades.  We hope everyone has a blessed time with their families this week, if possible, and that you will have time to truly consider the goodness of God toward you and yours.

Orthodoxy, Justification, James 2, Dale Tuggy, and Jordan Hall Rebukes Rodney Howard Brown

Jumbo (90 minute) edition of the program today starting off with a discussion of Hank Hanegraaff’s video in response to John MacArthur leading to a lengthy (though somewhat concise) exegesis of James 2:14-24.  After this I briefly addressed Dr. Dale Tuggy’s challenge to debate the Trinity.  Finally I spent the rest of the program discussing Jordan Hall’s interruption of a Rodney Howard Brown service and its aftermath.  Yes, the attitude is directly related to the attitude displayed regarding the Free Will debate last week.

Ephesians 4:29-32 Applied to Christian Communication, A Hack-Job Video, and Francis’ Unorthodox Views

Started off with some geeky stuff, a few new books, etc., then moved to Ephesians 4 and how we are to behave as believers, especially in the realm of communication.  Moved seamlessly into a hack-job video that P&P is promoting, a personal attack upon me.  Played the whole thing showing how whoever produced it (Hall knows and isn’t saying) purposefully avoided context, proper categories, etc., and sought only to mislead the viewer.  It is dishonest at its core.  After that had a few brief comments on Mormonism, and then finished up with an article about Pope Francis’ unorthodox views.  A 90 minute edition today!
