A Mega Dividing Line with 50 Minutes of Open Phones

Too many topics to even start to list, but mainly in the opening I discussed the upcoming debates in South Dakota and London, then discussed a meme Ijaz Ahmad posted over the weekend, and then read all of William Lane Craig’s answer to a very insightful question sent to him.  Then we took phone calls on…every topic imaginable!  Only DL this week, so we had to make it interesting!

Hank Hanegraaf and Eastern Orthodoxy, David Allen’s Refutation, and an Insightful FB Conversation

Went just under Mega length today (about 1:50) with three topics: the news coming out last evening that Hank Hanegraaff of CRI has entered the Eastern Orthodox Church for the first 45 minutes or so, then an examination of some of the claims made by Dr. David Allen in his book on the atonement, specifically by name in response to me, and finally a review of a very interesting conversation between myself, Ijaz Ahmed, and Abu Ayoub on secularization and the Christian Church.  Talk about covering a wide range again, but, hey, it’s the Dividing Line!

Reformation Tour, Allen Debate Invitation, Rome and Mary, and More

Covered a pretty wide range today, starting with Mike O’Fallon talking about the upcoming Reformation Tour in Europe in September.  Then we moved on to my debate invitation for David Allen.  Then we played a video from Catholic Answers on why Mary is called “woman” by Jesus, demonstrating what happens when you deny sola scriptura.  Then we looked at a Muslim video on the crucifixion of Jesus, and finished off with a KJVO conspiracy theory that I am preparing the world for the mark of the Beast (which I might add, according to two papyri copies of Revelation, is 616, not 666).

William Lane Craig, Andy Stanley, and Albert Mohler, Then, Surah 9, Islam, and the Changed Heart

A Mega sized DL today, two full hours, with the first 1:15 dedicated to reviewing and responding to the Reasonable Faith podcast of 3/27 and its defense of Andy Stanley (which sounded more to me like a backhanded attack on Dr. Mohler to be honest).  You see, apologetics is not theology, folks, and that is why you can treat the unbeliever as a neutral moral agent and let him judge God’s existence!  And why you don’t have to worry about things like the Flood, the Exodus, or even the Virgin Birth!  Yes indeed folks, we played the whole thing.  Then we shifted gears, massively so, and I spent the last 45 minutes reading relevant materials regarding Surah 9, jihad, Muslim/Christian relations, and basically asked the question, isn’t the real issue one of the heart?

The Benedict Option, Tim Keller, South Africa and London, and an Important Announcement

Started off the first DL after two weeks with a little conversation about the book, The Benedict Option, along with an article on Tim Keller’s speaking at Princeton (they are related).  Then started my report on my trip to South Africa and London, leading to an important announcement about my enrollment in the Ph.D. program at Northwest University in Potchefstroom, South Africa, working under Dr. Jordaan in textual criticism, focusing upon P45, an early third century manuscript that may provide important insights into the earliest period of the transmission of the text of the New Testament.
