Jason Lisle on Apologetics and Science, Honesty in Textual Criticism, More Reformation History

Started off with my good friend and brother in the Lord, Dr. Jason Lisle, head of the Biblical Science Institute.  Jason and I discussed some of his books and, well, lots of super geeky/nerdy stuff.  Then we really shifted gears and I addressed an accusation made against me last week saying that my daring to talk about the textual variant at Luke 23:34 (“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”) is somehow giving “ammunition” to the enemy.  Then we moved back to the Reformation history series, filling up a full 90 minutes.  Lots of information today on a very wide range of topics!  Enjoy!

Radio Free Geneva! Robert Jeffress, Roman Catholicism, the Reformation, and then Kevin Thompson on John 6 (Mega Edition)

Started off with the First Baptist Dallas interview of Sean Hannity and discussed a lot about Roman Catholicism and how we should mourn over the fact that Rome’s gospel does not save.  Then I very, very briefly discussed the John Piper thing on final justification.  Then we moved to a video from Pastor Kevin Thompson on John 6:37, playing his comments in their entirety and demonstrating that yet once again there is simply no way to read this text without it plainly and compellingly teaching God’s utter freedom in the matter of salvation.  A full two hours today, no streaming errors or anything.  We will be doing another program tomorrow, same time!

Washington Conference, JefftheGK and IFD, the Lollards

Went straight to the office from the airport upon my return from Dallas to do the program today.  Was joined by Mike O’Fallon of the Sovereign Alliance at the top of the hour, talking about the tour to Germany a few weeks ago, and about the upcoming Washington Summit he is organizing.  Then we moved into a lengthy review and response to Jeff Dornik regarding “IFDs.”  Gave him the opportunity to call in and respond, but alas, he must have been too busy to do so.  Finished up talking about the Lollards in our Reformation history recap.  A “jumbo” edition today!  More to come later in the week!

Archbishop of Canterbury Can’t Answer Direct Questions, More on the I Am Sayings of Jesus

Snuck a quick DL in today, covering Justin Welby’s inability to answer a direct question on the nature of sin, and then spending most of our time continuing the discussion of the I Am sayings of Jesus in light of the comments of Craig Evans and Mike Licona.  Hope it is helpful!

Horrible Arguments for the Roman Priesthood, Did Jesus Say the I Am Statements?

Started off covering a Catholic Answers article trying to find “clues” to the Roman priesthood in the Bible.  Then moved on to the main topic, that being the discussion of whether Jesus said the “I am” statements as per the Craig Evans/Bart Ehrman discussion, and Mike Licona’s commentary thereon last week.  Resulted in an in-depth discussion of inspiration especially in light of Ijaz Ahmad’s comments on the topic on Facebook.  100 minute long program today.
