Issues Relating to Reformed Baptists

Gene Bridges, Anthony Bradley, Greg Johnson, Michael Heiser, and Bruxy Cavey!

Gene Bridges comments on a Facebook discussion, Anthony Bradley continues to swing wide left, Greg Johnson comes out as a homosexual, Michael Heiser demonstrates he has not done even the most basic reading in Reformed theology, and Bruxy Cavey gets a tattoo that demonstrates he has no idea what God’s law is all about.  Wow, talk about eclectic!  Enjoy!

Debate Report from London, Open Phones, Twitter Questions

Gave a quick debate report from last nights encounter with Adnan Rashid in Selhurst, South London, and then started covering questions provided over Twitter and yes, open phones!  I was very pleased with how well the phones worked, in fact, so this means we will be able to focus more upon doing Dividing Lines even when I am traveling overseas (when my schedule allows for it).  Good questions on a wide variety of topics.  Enjoy!

A Few Opening Thoughts then Open Phones

Pretty much open phones today with good questions like “Did Augustine really have the gospel?” and “How central is the issue of credobaptism vs. infant baptism?”  Last US DL for a few weeks as I will be overseas, but we do intend to sneak a few programs in (probably in the mornings here in the US) as time permits.

William Lane Craig and the Basis of Faith, Douglas Beaumont’s Failed Attempt at Redefining John 6:44

Started off responding to this article by William Lane Craig, once again dealing with the relationship between God’s revelation in Scripture and our knowledge, including our knowledge of who Christ was (and is).  Craig is the primary source for Andy Stanley’s position, by the way, as you will see.  Then we transitioned into a full-on refutation of this article by Dr. Douglas Beaumont, formerly of Southern Evangelical Seminary and one of the many staff and students who have converted to Romanism.

Cultural Madness, Atonement Issues, Textual Traditionalism

A morning DL for us here today, the only program for this week. We started with some commentary on current cultural madness and rapid decline, including a grandmother bearing a child for her homosexual son. Then we looked at issues relating to the atonement, first in comments from Taylor Marshall and Timothy Gordon on the Mass, and then from William Lane Craig on the extent of the atonement.  Finally we transitioned into a review of an article by Dr. Riddle ostensibly criticizing me for inconsistency in citing Jan Krans’ work, Beyond What is Written.  We demonstrated the errors in Riddle’s thinking and verified the consistent value of historical works for documenting the history of the Greek New Testament.
