Commented today on Katrina and the simple fact that if you believe the Bible and follow its teachings, things like Katrina cannot be sloughed off into the “it happens” category. That was the first half hour, then the calls came in pretty strong today, and that took up the second portion of the program. Here it is.
Had an early DL today. I started off playing Gene Cook’s impromptu interview with Ruben Israel. I likewise made the mistake, again, of calling Gene Cook “Gene Scott.” Gene called to straighten me out (Cook, not Scott–we do not accept extra-terrestrial phone calls). The fireworks start right off as James pre-emptorily refutes arguments often used by Mr. Matatics, leaving him with little to do other than challenging James to take some bizarre angelic oath of honesty.
Today I started off with about half an hour or so on the subject of Acts 15, the “Jerusalem Council,” issues relating to Peter’s role, and to the relevance of the text to church government (i.e., Reformed Baptist/Presbyterian discussions, such as the one I had with Robert Reymond). Then we took calls.
