No, I wasn’t going for the perfect number, it just turned out that way. But we looked at a video of a BYU professor talking about the removal of homosexuality from the honor code, and how this is related to one’s “testimony of the Brethren.” Fascinating days in Utah! Then we talked about Doug Wilson’s comments on the Christianity Today
We managed to get through a number of excellent calls today on topics ranging from the canon to covenant theology to talking to folks who are being taught by the New Confessionalists, etc. with only one 30 second Internet drop (that, as far as we can see, was on Rich’s end, not mine!). Should be able to have another program
Going almost a full two hours today was pretty easy, given how much I needed to catch up on! Did nearly a full hour on Matthew Vines’ comments about me from a recent Google video, then played a clip from NT Wright on predestination and election, then I addressed my Muslim friends, and finished up going back to the issue
Luke 23:34a is often known as the so-called, “First Saying of Christ on the Cross.” His intercessory prayer has been an indelible saying in the minds of the biblical literate (and not so literate) for centuries. This saying is perennial sermon fodder for pastors on Good Friday. And those who have viewed the poignant film The Passion of the Christ
Started with a little video that Apologia Studios put together (thanks to Carman and Isaac) of Jeff and I competing in the apologists’ bracket, and then looked at a tweet from R. Scott Clark kicking me out of Reformedville (well, nothing overly new there), before moving back to the 2018 interview with Leighton Flowers and Ken Wilson. Last program for
Tackled the ever so easy, light issues of “White evangelicals,” Christian Nationalism, sacralism, and the recent dust-ups that had Reformed men posting clown-shoe memes about other Reformed men (all causing the angels in heaven to weep, me thinks). Had to do some eschatology and a lot more, but the fact is, it is indeed Christ or chaos, we must witness
James N. Anderson has replied to Abasciano here. I want to briefly illustrate Abasciano’s co-text myopia. Abasciano claims that πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων (pas ho pisteuōn, “whoever believes”) grammatically conveys indefiniteness. It actually does not, at least as it is realized in this particular discourse of John. If Abasciano wants to be consistent then he must conclude that John is teaching
Did another program from up here in Prescott Valley, Arizona, looking at some amazing actions of Big Brother as he seeks to establish his totalitarian regime. Then we looked at the amazing documentation coming out about the blatant plagiarization of sermon material by Ed Litton, the new President of the SBC, and finished up at the end with more exciting
