Spent nearly an hour and 20 minutes listening to and interacting with the discussion between Jonathan Merritt and Andy Stanley at the beginning of the program. Dr. Albert Mohler spent a solid ten minutes on the same exchange on this morning’s edition of The Briefing (recommended). Then we moved over to playing some clips from a YouTube channel called 3Mormons,
Two main topics on the program today. First I mentioned fairly briefly this wild-eyed article from SBC Today as another example of Anti-Calvinist Derangement Syndrome. Had to chuckle at its ridiculous comments on Edwards, though I know it is serious—and sad. But sometimes, you just have to laugh. Discussed Justin Martyr’s words in reference to Malachi 1:11 as found in his Dialogue with Trypho (in reference to a call from Tuesday), and then went over a textual critical issue relating to partial manuscripts. Then we opened the phones and, as normal, covered a ton of topics, with a lot on the Trinity and the relationship of Father, Son
Did a 75 minute program today, starting off with the looniest video I’ve ever seen aimed at me from a small Romanist cult up in New York. Then we moved on to the “God Isn’t Fixing This” headline, an article on the TGC blog about homosexuality, and finally a brief review of Paul Copan’s article on regeneration and faith. Enjoy!
