I took the time to respond to a number of comments made on the Parchment and Pen theology blog relating to Roman Catholicism, the gospel, etc. I was going to write some lengthy articles, but I chose to use the spoken word so that I could communicate my passion and concern about these issues. No calls today, managed to get through a major portion of the cross-examination in the Ally/Licona debate. Spent a good deal of time taking apart Shabir Ally’s attempt to get around a very well developed point by Licona on the issue of nails in Roman crucifixion.

First DL in a while, so callers took precedence. Discussed a wide variety of topics, with one half-hour call on King James Onlyism, one call on the distinction between latria and dulia in Roman Catholic theology.

Yes, we had a Dividing Line last Thursday, right before I headed out of town. My recollection is that we covered more of the Ally/Licona debate and took some good calls, but I’ve traveled so far and done so much since then, you may well have to listen just to find out!

Callers drove the agenda on the DL today, going from Mormonism to the Qur’an and Jesus to “creeping universalism” in Roman Catholicism and finally to an encouraging call from a caller in California who left Rome ten years ago and who wished to call and thank us for our role in that. Today I finished up Jamal Badawi’s statements against the deity of Christ, and then returned to the Ally/Licona debate on the resurrection. Covered a lot of ground!

Having taken a number of calls the past few programs, I settled down to work on some comments by Jamal Badawi in a debate on the deity of Christ. Spent the entire hour responding to his comments. Should that cause you to skip over the program, remember that the arguments he presented were parallel to arguments used by many opponents

Started with the Islamic argument that no one can produce anything as majestic as the Qur’an, then took a lengthy call from Pierre, our LDS caller, on the doctrine of God. Then we had some fairly technical calls on two different texts as well.

Started off with the Ally/Licona debate for about the first twenty minutes or so, then took two calls, one regarding Robert Price and the text of the NT (Dan Wallace’s comments that started the call here) and then from Frank in Dallas on doctrinal certainty in light of Roman Catholic claims.

Was going to get back to the debate, but got two good phone calls that took up our entire hour! First was on seminaries and apologetics, the second on particular redemption and related issues. Good to get back to doing the DL!

   Due to something called a virus, there will be no DL today. Sorry. Walking across the room is currently a major challenge, making it to the office is totally out of the question. Lord willing Thursday.

Had an all-British Dividing Line today, discussing a number of items. One caller asked about Mormonism the last half hour so we spent some time on that. We will try to do an all Scottish DL next week!

Today on the Dividing Line Rich decided to do an impromptu interview, sort of, regarding the tomb book, based upon the e-mails he has been receiving.
