6th Canon of Nicea, MBTS’s Triggering Book Display Examined
James White, , Church Fathers, Church History, Debate, Eastern Orthodoxy, Personal, Reformed Apologetics, Reformed Baptist Issues, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line
Had a little bit of tech difficulty at the start, so I am not completely certain how long we went, but we spent the first part of the program going more in depth on the 6th Canon of Nicea in response to Michael Lofton’s amazing response on YouTube. Basically, we documented that Rome dogmatically tells her apologists what to find

Too Many Topics Today To Remember!
James White, , Abortion, Christian Worldview, Church History, Debate, Exegesis, Molinism, Provisionism, Reformed Apologetics, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters, Transinsanity
Went for an hour and forty minutes or so and covered a lot of topics, I must confess! Mainly focused on finishing up our response to Jason Breda on John 6 and his confusion about Greek verbs, participles, tenses, you name it. Did that, and then played a clip from Frank Turek claiming Calvinism is contradictory, and then a clip

Lots of Topics on the DL Today
James White, , Christian Worldview, Church Fathers, Debate, Musings, Personal, Provisionism, Racialism, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Thomism
Had a lot of mini issues to discuss at the top, then looked at an example of horrible racism, then discussed Derek Webb’s comments on a video posted by Leighton Flowers, then looked at the language used by Credo Magazine in self-defining “orthodoxy.” ADDENDUM: I forgot to add the information for ordering that wonderful tomb-scene wooden artwork I showed on

Aquinas as a Commentator, Doing “Theological Exegesis” on Matthew 24:36
James White, , Church Fathers, Church History, Debate, Exegesis, General Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Thomism
Looked at some claims about Aquinas by Norm Geisler, including a quick look at John 13:19, and then started to respond to the second in the series from Baptist Dogmatics regarding Matthew 24:36. What is “theological” or “dogmatic” exegesis? Well, we will find out more as we continue our review and response. But not tomorrow, though we plan on doing

A Slightly Abbreviated DL Today: So How DO You Define the Reformation?
James White, , Debate, Personal, Post-Evangelicalism, Reformed Baptist Issues, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters, Thomism
I explained at the start of the program that things had developed that required me to shorten the program and rush off a bit…to get my new (first time) hearing aids! Wow, did you know that the keys on a keyboard make little clicky sounds when you press on them? Who knew? I was pretty surprised they could do it

Responding to Trent Horn on Theopneustos, Part I
James White, , Church Fathers, Church History, Debate, Exegesis, Pauline Studies, Personal, Roman Catholicism, Textual Issues, The Dividing Line
Went just over 90 minutes today. The first quarter hour we talked briefly about dying Bible pages (showed off my recent examples) and the descent of the US into true banana republic status. Then we launched into Trent Horn’s response to me on theopneustos, getting into a wide variety of topics such as church history, lexicography, and the like. We
