I mentioned a song on today’s DL that is rather “old” by today’s standards, but I think it was written before its time. It’s message is so relevant today, so vitally important, I tracked down two versions of it. The first is from the man who made it famous, Steve Green, ironically singing it at the North Phoenix Baptist Church, where I was a member from 1978 to 1989 (this performance was in 1991). In fact, my dear wife and I sang a duet at the very spot Steve Green is standing on June 23, 1982, the Wednesday night before our wedding! OK, that brief trip down memory lane concluded, the second version is a choral one that is quite nice as well.
