We did our best to celebrate the World Premiere of Steve Ray’s DVD (in Troy, Michigan) by playing clips from Steve’s recent CA Live appearance and, well, sorta examining his claims for consistency and accuracy. The result was…as to be expected!
Mainly addressed three topics today, Ed Litton’s egregious excuses for his plagiarism publicly promulgated at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Todd Friel’s argument against seeing Romans 13 as having a basis in God’s law and definitions, and finally a few more minutes examining Hank Hanegraaff’s claims about church history.
Today on the DL I started off by playing some clips from a debate featuring Sheikh Awal, one of my opponents in Dearborn next month. I went over his claim that portions of the NT were written by Constantine at Nicea, and his claim that the great uncial manuscripts, Sinaiticus, Vaticanus, and Alexandrinus, were written in the twelfth century! Covered a wide variety of things including a little bit about the miracle of baby August, possible conversations with family members over Christmas regarding the Bible (taking from Sye’s debate with Matt Dillahunty), and a brief discussion of Pope Francis’ comments concerning Mary as co-redemptrix with Christ. We plan on doing programs on Wednesday and Friday as well.
