Well, this looks like fun! Of course, I know it is all just a cover. Pat Abendroth is currently training 12 hours a day to ensure that at the right time he will be able to look back at me, like Armstrong did to Ullrich on l’Alpe d’Huez in 2001, and then rocket away, leaving me gasping for breath. I know Pat too well. Of course, there really aren’t any mountains like l’Alpe d’Huez in the Omaha area, so it may be the old school “stick in the spokes” move, probably picked up from Pat’s brother Mike. Whatever it is, I better be ready! I will be checking the brake cables of the rental bike, examining the tires closely, all that stuff. You never can tell with the Abendroth brothers, you know.
