Stumbled on a Soteriology 101 video asking if I am “right” about Matthew 23:37, so we dealt pretty fully with that new presentation for the first ninety minutes, then touched upon some other topics including Bart Barber’s amazing defense of Ed Litton. Mega edition, two full hours! I head out on Road Trip #2, heading for G3, so programs for
Covered a ton of topics including the consistency of John’s witness with the Synoptic Gospels regarding the day of the Crucifixion (Friday), modalism in the Book of Mormon and the “Joseph Smith Translation,” some thoughts on my upcoming sermon from Romans 4:25 (this coming Sunday), and some loose ends on materials relevant to Ken Wilson’s dissertation and the early Fathers.
Covered about half an hour of “topics” from the Ebionites to current discussions of “insanity,” and then we went to open phones with lots of questions on a wide variety of topics including the Trinity, Oneness, and two calls on textual variants (Romans 5:1, John 10:29). Since I will be traveling both Tuesday and Thursday, we will do a special, early edition of the DL tomorrow at 10am MST (9am PST, Noon EST). I did not get a chance to play the “quote the text, quickly move therefrom” response of the men on the Pastor’s Perspective program when someone called in to ask about the heart
Couldn’t let some folks have withdrawals for nearly two weeks (and I wanted to comment on a few things myself!) so we did a special Monday DL today. I started off looking at Ezekiel 36 and 37 and the beautiful presentation of God’s work of regeneration in the New Covenant displayed therein. Then we listened, without interruption, to a nine
Today’s DL was 90 minutes in length to give me time to launch into two new studies. First, I began responding to a lengthy e-mail relating to the grounds upon which God can justly judge men in light of His sovereignty. Then, after 45 minutes on that I moved into a review of the Fernandes/Comis debate on the Five Points
We had some server problems that got us going a bit late, but we pressed on anyway with a discussion of Roman Catholic priests and a review of some comments on the Eucharist. Here’s the slightly shorted (53 minute) program.
