Spent a little over an hour with John Cooper today talking about his new book, Wimpy, Weak and Woke (available at johnlcooper.com though the Kindle is already available at Amazon). Talked eschatology and law and culture and the future and hope and what we need to be praying for as far as mercy from God! As always a pleasure to have John on the Dividing Line!
Reviewed my ten days in Texas, leading up to some brief comments on the Leighton Flowers debate, and then took some calls, one of which was from someone who attended the debate itself. The second was on the subject of the “free offer of the gospel” and what that means. Here is the YouTube link:
I covered the Jerry Vines sermon from First Baptist Church Woodstock. Well, more accurately, I started the process, as it was not a short sermon.
I will be addressing clips from Barack Obama’s Saturday speech to the Human Rights Campaign, a radical group promoting super rights based upon sexual behavior, on both the Dividing Line and then immediately afterward, Iron Sharpens Iron. Dealt with a number of articles on the program today from a stack of articles I had thrown into Evernote, including dealing with the decline in religious freedom, the Pope and indulgences, Muslim nations banning Christmas—even a few words on Piper’s controversial article about Christians and self-defense. I did the DL today: but there is no recording of it. Sorry! Rich was sick, I had only a few minutes to try to set everything up and do it all myself, and I simply forgot to start the recording before the program began. I probably should have just used that hour for something more useful anyway, I guess!
I’m truly saddened that Xavier didn’t take up my invitation to call the Dividing Line today!
