Lots of folks are asking about where I will be speaking on a trip beginning a week from tomorrow. Well, first, I am flying to New York to speak at New Hyde Park Baptist Church once again, with Pastor Doug McMasters. I am helping Doug shed the last vestiges of his British accent so that the New Yorkers can understand him. It’s tough work! Seriously, we will be dealing with the exclusive nature of the claims of Christ in a world where the watchword is “inclusivism” and “pluralism” (even though, as we all know, those who use those terms are the least inclusive, least pluralistic folks on the planet). Here is the scoop:
American culture is becoming intolerant of universal truth claims and indiscriminately tolerant of all individual views. That puts our culture in direct conflict with Christ who asserted, “I am the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6).
James White will provide biblical instruction and practical guidance on how to bring the exclusive gospel of Jesus Christ to our pluralistic society. He is the director of Alpha and Omega Ministries, a Christian apologetics organization based in Phoenix, Arizona. He is the author of more than twenty books, a professor, an accomplished debater, and an elder of the Phoenix Reformed Baptist Church (and a cyclist who Doug McMasters wants to grind to powder on some obscure hillside on Long Island—I sorta added this part).
