Mike Winger’s “Achilles Heel of Calvinism” Video on Radio Free Geneva

I promised to eventually get around to Pastor Mike Winger’s video on the “Achilles Heel of Calvinism,” as it had been sent to me at least a dozen times by different folks, and so today we got to it, even though we were up against the Kavanaugh hearings which probably shrank the audience a good bit (Rich says we still have over 400 watching on YouTube).  In any case, spent right at 90 minutes playing portions and responding to brother Winger’s comments. Lots of important ground in the debate covered and clarified.

Shawn McCraney and Ephesians 1 on Radio Free Geneva

On a special Radio Free Geneva episode today we examined the comments of Shawn McCraney of The Heart of the Matter up in Salt Lake City from his Tuesday night episode of his telecast where he not only went after Jeff Durbin and myself but likewise attempted to provide an interpretation of Ephesians 1:1-14 that he claims “shot to hell” the Reformed understanding (which he likewise described as being “full of it”).  Shawn is quite the colorful character, but his teaching is grossly in error, as we demonstrated.  Here is his original episode.  Just a bit over 90 minutes today!

Current Events and Controversies Followed by Radio Free Geneva!

Did thirty minutes on current events (the ethnicity discussion mainly) before firing up the Radio Free Geneva theme and tackling two videos, one from Greg Boyd, and the other from Kevin Thompson, both aimed at refuting Calvinism. Boyd’s was the general discussion, Thompson pretended that Reformed exegetes ignore the phrase “in him” at Ephesians 1:4.  We debunked that claim.

Radio Free Geneva: Calvinism’s Gospel Tautology Refuted

On Radio Free Geneva today we examined this article from Dr. Rich Davis titled “Calvinism’s Gospel Tautology.”  This is a classic example of “philosophical traditionalism vs. exegetical accuracy” when it comes to Reformed polemics.  Only an hour today, but at least you got to hear the RFG intro!  UPDATE:  Dr. Davis provided a “response” of sorts after the program aired.  I put “response” in quotes because it completely ignores the main point of my reply: the exegetical errors made in his article that then led him to his false philosophical argumentation.  This is a classic example of how philosophers privilege their philosophy above the actual content of the exegesis of the Scriptures.  Read it for yourself and compare!

Pelagians on Twitter, Man-Centered God at Bethel, Presuppositions in Ehrman, Open Phones

Started off looking at a Pelagian on Twitter by the name of “C G.”  Then played an entire ten minute long clip from a guy on the “Dead Raising Team” from Bethel Church in Redding about how we should believe in the goodness of people (please read Romans 3:10-18 over three times while pondering that concept).  Before going to the phones for the last part of the program we looked at how presuppositions impact arguments, such as those made by Bart Ehrman about the birth narratives in Matthew and Luke.
