Started off the program with a look at James 3 in light of the arrival of 2020 and the challenges we will be facing therein. Moved on to discuss the totalitarian Left and its attack upon everything that is godly and true. We connected this to the recent “trans-gender” decision in the UK. Then we discussed Pope Francis’ comments about “proselytization” via Google Translate. Wide variety of topics today!
Covered a wide variety of things including a little bit about the miracle of baby August, possible conversations with family members over Christmas regarding the Bible (taking from Sye’s debate with Matt Dillahunty), and a brief discussion of Pope Francis’ comments concerning Mary as co-redemptrix with Christ. We plan on doing programs on Wednesday and Friday as well.
Started off with a discussion of the quandary faced by Rome’s apologists today as they deal with the reality of an unorthodox Pope. Sort of makes their arguments against sola scriptura just a tad vacuous. Then we moved over to looking at the reality that men like Bishop Talbert Swan, who throw around accusations of racism and white supremacy with abandon, are the direct result of the writings and teachings of the father of black theology, James Cone. Spent quite a while reading Cone’s words directly so that everyone can fully understand the depth of the man’s racism, and the extent of the man’s heresy from any meaningfully biblical perspective.
I guess inerrancy was the theme in looking at just a few portions of the discussion between Peter Williams and Bart Ehrman on Justin Brierley’s Unbelievable program and then Mike Licona’s discussion with Richard Howe. After that we tried to sneak callers in for the last 15 minutes…and ended up going half an hour, so, 75 minutes total.
