Rick Warren Capitulates to Rome
James White, , General Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, Uncategorized
I wrote up a quick article on FaceBook regarding Rick Warren’s willing cooperation with the white-washing of Rome’s false gospel. His recent video is simply despicable—that is the only term I can use to describe it. The pragmatist has become the ecumenist and the cost is always the same: the gospel itself. Here is the article.

A Program for the INC: John 1:1, 17:3, and Other Biblical Issues Post-Debate
James White, , Exegesis, General Apologetics, Iglesia Ni Christo, Reformed Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, Uncategorized
Did a follow up on the INC debate and its aftermath today, responding to the posting of a Facebook article likening me to Simon Magus in my seeking to obtain the book, Fundamental Beliefs of the Iglesia Ni Christo (Erano G. Manalo). Went in-depth into John 1:1, 17:3 (didn’t even go on to 17:5!), and discussed the Holy Spirit as well.

Lots of Things to Interest a Wide Variety of Folks
James White, , Christian Worldview, General Apologetics, Homosexuality, Islam, Reformed Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line
Gave a brief report on my trip to Spain (having gotten home late last evening) and then spent time discussing Marco Rubio’s comments on attending a ceremony wherein marriage is profaned and blasphemed. Then we looked at an article by Roger Olson demonstrating that anti-Reformed sentiment leads many to reject God’s right to define Himself, and His own goodness. Then

Tradition and the House Church Movement
James Swan, , General Apologetics
The interactions with Harold Camping’s flee the church reminded me of a recent discussion I had with a person intrigued by the house church movement. He explained there was a grass roots movement of serious Reformed Christians that believed big churches were a leftover from medieval Catholicism. That big building you go to every Sunday wasn’t what the Apostles had

The Collision of Apologetic Methods
Jeff Downs, , General Apologetics
I recently read Doug Groothuis’s review of the new film Collision (the debate/discussions between Christopher Hitchens and Doug Wilson). Already knowing that Groothuis does not favor presupposition apologetics, I was still surprised to find this comment in this review: “Those trained in apologetics, will note that Wilson uses the Van Tillian presuppositional method (with some help from C.S. Lewis on

Why Celebrate the Reformation? Reason 187: Rome’s Marian Dogmas
James White, , General Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line
Aside from a few technical hiccups and a bit of wandering about, spent pretty much the entire hour on Rome’s Marian teachings, looking in particular at where they came from. I read from such sources as the Odes of Solomon, the Ascension of Isaiah, and especially from The Protevangelium of James. Be warned! Some of this material is a bit difficult to listen

The Real Story Behind the Harold Camping Decoder Ring
James Swan, , General Apologetics
This past Sunday my pastor announced that each member of the church received a copy of the latest Christian Renewal Magazine. We received this because it contained an article on Harold Camping. Over the past fifteen years we’ve had Family Radio supporters in our church (they’ve all since left, of course). There are a number of people my church is concerned

Shabir Ally on the Deity of Christ, John 1:1, Greek Grammar, Robert Truelove and the Abandonment of Context
James White, , Exegesis, General Apologetics, Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses, King James Onlyism, Reformed Baptist Issues, Textual Issues, The Dividing Line
What is between a jumbo DL and a mega DL? I don’t know either, but here it is…right at an hour and fifty minutes in length, today’s DL will keep you busy looking up references and following the arguments! Took the time today to respond to some statements made by Dr. Shabir Ally in a recent debate he did, focusing
