Going almost a full two hours today was pretty easy, given how much I needed to catch up on! Did nearly a full hour on Matthew Vines’ comments about me from a recent Google video, then played a clip from NT Wright on predestination and election, then I addressed my Muslim friends, and finished up going back to the issue of homosexuality and a compromising church. It should not be overly surprising to anyone that given the Ehrman debate is a week from tomorrow that the topic would be…New Testament textual issues! So we continued listening to the Infidel Guy/Ehrman program, this time getting into where the train jumped the tracks, i.e., where the Infidel Guy discovered Ehrman, unlike his other heroes, actually believes Jesus existed!
Had a bunch of other stuff I didn’t get to, but did manage to look at an excellent example of how KJVOism destroys real confidence in the Bible by looking at an example provided by Pastor Jonathan Burris (here) regarding the abuse of Deuteronomy 16:11 by one such KJVO advocate. Took the time to go over my incredible journey through London and Berlin, including four debates, one at the East London Mosque, as well as the rest of the ministry opportunities I engaged in over the past two weeks. Took the time to consider the debates and offer some insights into why they were each different from each other.
Another potpourri of topics today, with calls on “repentance” in the Old Testament, dealing with anti-Trinitarian “Messianic Judaism,” and a call on explaining the wrath of God to our modern culture. Snuck a few minutes of the second Slick/Sungenis conversation as well.
