Is John 6 Only About the Apostles?
James White, , Provisionism, Radio Free Geneva, Reformed Apologetics, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
Today we examined this article by Eric Kemp (following the claims of someone named Drew McLeod) that tries to argue that John 6 is only about the Apostles, and is not relevant to anyone alive today. We have examined many dozens of attempts to get around the teachings of John 6 over the years, and this one ranks right down

My Thoughts on All Things SBC
James White, , Post-Evangelicalism, The Dividing Line
Addressed the shameful situation with the treatment of the Bucks, the absurd claim by Karen Swallow Prior that she is “afraid” of Tom, and my predictions for the future of the, I think, soon to be renamed Southern Baptist Convention.

Response to Southwest Radio Church on King James Controversy, Part 2 (Dr. Waite)
James White, , King James Onlyism, The Dividing Line
Since the claim was made on the radio that Dr. White was evasive during their 1996 debate, Dr. White played a clip from that debate in order to demonstrate that it was Waite who needed to avoid Dr. White’s questions. The show also applies some principles of sound textual criticism to this issue. A snail mail response from Southwest Bible

Caller Driven Dividing Line
James White, , The Dividing Line
Pretty much a caller-driven DL today covering a wide, wide variety of topics, from an in-depth look at a text in the Qur’an relating to sacrifice and redemption, to a discussion of the milk and the meat and reforming churches. I also announced a trip to London in November, and asked that God’s people assist us in making this happen.

Romans 3, Steve Lawson Issues, Pietism, Anabaptism, Sacralism
James White, , Baptism, Christian Worldview, Church History, Eschatology, Musings, Pastoral Theology, Pauline Studies, Personal, Post-Evangelicalism, Reformed Baptist Issues, The Dividing Line
Three sections to the program today. The first topic was a discussion on Romans 3 and its testimony to human sinfulness. The second was a relatively brief commentary on new developments in the Steve Lawson saga. The last was a discussion of the terms pietism, Anabaptism, and sacralism, prompted by a recent webcast that identified me as a pietist and

Response to Anthony Buzzard and More
James White, , The Dividing Line
Started off responding to the video I posted yesterday, and recording it for posting on YouTube: Then we moved on to discuss a number of things, including the cowardice of Richard Dawkins, the moral depravity of rebellion against God’s creative purpose in gender, and the depth of darkness one plunges into when one abandons the truth and believes a lie.

A Few Comments on the Revolution, then a Response to Robert Gagnon on John 10
James White, , Christian Worldview, Post-Evangelicalism, Reformed Apologetics, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
Snuck in a program today mainly focusing upon John 10 and Robert Gagnon’s comments about “eternal security,” though we did start off with a few “our culture is collapsing into a Marxist cesspool” observations at the start.
