Rob Bell Gets Honest and Calls
James White, , The Dividing Line
Started off briefly addressing some issues that arose from my reading of a great new book by Michael Brown, A Queer Thing Happened to America. I hope to have Michael on to discuss this topic soon, but till then, you will want to get your own copy. Want to help A&O out in the process? Get it through our Amazon

A Few Opening Thoughts then Open Phones
Rich Pierce, , CBGM, Church History, Pastoral Theology, Reformed Apologetics, Reformed Baptist Issues, Roman Catholicism, Textual Issues, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
Pretty much open phones today with good questions like “Did Augustine really have the gospel?” and “How central is the issue of credobaptism vs. infant baptism?” Last US DL for a few weeks as I will be overseas, but we do intend to sneak a few programs in (probably in the mornings here in the US) as time permits. A Few Pope Francis Stories, A Bit on Ken Wilson and Augustine, and Open Phones
James White, , Church History, Eastern Orthodoxy, Islam, Mormonism, Reformed Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, Textual Issues, The Dividing Line
Ran through some quick discussions of a few topics in the first half hour, and then took calls in the second. Covered a few Francis the Marxist stories, and then looked briefly at Ken Wilson’s anti-Calvinist polemic (dressed up as a work of history), The Foundation of Augustinian-Calvinism. Then pointed folks to a new resource for Qur’an studies, Fadel Soliman’s Bridges’ Translation

Catholic Answers Clips
James White, , The Dividing Line
Covered some interesting Catholic Answers clips and noted the parallel between their arguments and those of Arminians like Steve Gregg, and took some calls along the way!

Thinking Presuppositionally, Brandan Robertson and Chris Fisher
James White, , Christian Worldview, Debate, Exegesis, Homosexuality, Open Theism, Post-Evangelicalism, Provisionism, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
How do we think presuppositionally? Today we took at look at two issues, one with Brandan Robertson and his “Jesus was a racist” video, and then on to a debate on Open Theism with Chris Fisher, and his amazing claim that Yahweh gains knowledge by “counting water” in Isaiah 40:12. Hopefully helpful examples and teaching!

The Gospel, the Shoebats, Christian Militancy, and a Bit More
James White, , The Dividing Line
Over the weekend Walid and Theodore Shoebat posted a number of items aimed my direction, and though most of what (especially) Walid produced is simply irrelevant (or too childish to respond to), it did provide a basis for a discussion of the centrality of the gospel, the nature of the gospel, and related issues, especially as they have to do

Short Dividing Line
James White, , The Dividing Line
My sincere apologies for having to cut short the program today! I will make it up Thursday by starting half an hour early, hence, the start time will be 3:30pm PDT, 6:30pm EDT (2:30pm AKDT for my friends in Alaska!). I’ll get to the clips I had mentioned but did not play.

Stability, Order, Foundations, Adiaphora, and a Bible-Based Trip Down Memory Lane
James White, , Christian Worldview, Misc, Musings, Personal, The Dividing Line
Had more streaming problems today (yes, we are considering outside interference, but for now, there really isn’t much we can do about it) so we recorded the program again. Spent most of the time looking at Colossians 2:5-7 and what it means to be stable, grounded, disciplined, and what this means in our present context. Then we took a little
