We have no way of knowing what we will be doing for the next few days program wise, but we snuck one in today, looking closely at the infamous Marian prayer going around the net (one I was addressing in the early 1990s). Then we looked at Scott Swain’s comments on divine simplicity and James 1:5.
How does the christian know that the scriptures are God breathed? How are we to answer the Roman Catholic who believes that Vatican is the final authority over the christian life?
Started off with a little reflection on sacralism prompted by a tweet posted by Albert Mohler, but fairly quickly transitioned into total textual critical geekdom. First made some comments about the Textus Receptus, but then jumped 1300 years earlier into the story and started looking at the nomina sacra and early papyus manuscripts.
