We continued the discussion of the 1993 sola scriptura debate with Patrick Madrid on the program yesterday. The last ten minutes or so we took a call from Florida on the subject of “prophet” Joel Hemphill, his attacks upon the deity of Christ, and his willingness to “minister in music” in Trinitarian churches.
We opened the phone and took some calls, such as on the canon of the Greek Septuagint, and whether we are in constant sin because we do not love God perfectly. Then we looked at some numbers relating to the current panic relating to the pandemic, and then moved back into the in-depth analysis and refutation of Ken Wilson’s Oxford
That’s a great word, isn’t it? Potpourri. Really did meander a bit, though a lot of the topics (changing language, for example, new shutdowns by leftist governors, the coming national lockdown 1/21/21) sort of coalesced together in the end.
Tis the season to have to respond to another low in internet “polemics,” and so we did, responding to JD Hall’s show, which featured a picture he trolled from my social media feed, “James White is What Would Happen if Ignorance and Arrogance Had a Love Child.” Yep, that’s the title, and the substance matched the same level of childishness.
Back from Toronto, just trying to catch up on “life” today. On Tuesday’s Dividing Line I wish to continue looking at Ahmed Deedat’s attempt to find Muhammad in John 14 and 16, but I was thinking that sometimes the “Deedat Effect” gets lost when I start and stop his presentation and point out all the errors in the process. Pretty much a caller-driven DL today covering a wide, wide variety of topics, from an in-depth look at a text in the Qur’an relating to sacrifice and redemption, to a discussion of the milk and the meat and reforming churches.
