Want to be ready to survive the coming global socialist revolution? Oh, I don’t mean survive literally—that is in God’s hands. I mean survive spiritually, with a strong heart, sound convictions, and most importantly, a clear conscience?

The fast rising “soft totalitarianism” we are facing uses shame as its greatest weapon. Shame on you for holding those ideas! Shame on you for being filled with hate! Shame on you for being radical (i.e., for not thinking like everyone else is supposed to think). Shame on your for not celebrating diversity and inclusion and 148 genders and the gay mirage. Shame, shame, shame. And as we watch so many mega churches and ministries collapse in a heap of compromise and acceptance of this new worldly wisdom, we are left wondering, how can I not follow suit?

Shame requires authority. There has to be a higher authority whose laws and principles we were supposed to be living out but are not. For those who are left being ugly bags of mostly water, beakers of fizzing chemicals, stardust stuck in a chain reaction cycle, the highest authority to be found is public opinion, which can be created, and changed, by Big Brother.

But Christians have a much higher authority, and it is to that authority alone we must bow. We have to commit ourselves to pleasing not the angry, rebellious State with its insane and self-destructive demands, but the God who created all things and calls us to serve Him. And so, at its most basic, the issue of shame is really this: who are you seeking to please? If you are seeking to please God in Christ Jesus, you will stand on His revelation. If you are seeking to be men-pleasers, you will stand elsewhere.

Look at how often this appears in Scripture:

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. (Colossians 1:9–12)

For our exhortation does not come from error or impurity or by way of deceit; but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who examines our hearts. (1 Thessalonians 2:3–4)

Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. (1 Thessalonians 4:1)

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:5–6)

When the faces of men are set against you, and they are crying out, “Shame, shame on you Christian” for being so hateful as to identify as sin the very things that nailed Jesus to the cross, you must be clear thinking and steadfast. “I seek only to please the One who made me and gave Himself for me. He is my life, my all, and I seek only His approval. But beware! The One who now calls you to repent and believe will someday be your Judge, and He will judge impartially the thoughts and intents of your hearts! You must turn from these wicked ways and flee to Him for forgiveness and redemption! He is the only way! Repent and believe!”

This is the Way of Life in the midst of those stampeding mindlessly along the way of Death.
