Dr. White is joined by Bill Webster (and by co-author David King). In their new landmark book on Sola Scriptura, one author covered its history and the other its Scriptural portion. The group discusses the current state of apologetics with Roman Catholics, and take calls from listeners about church history.
Steve Hays has invested much time and effort in putting out a full response to Price/Lowder 2005 publication, The Empty Tomb: Jesus Beyond the Grave (Prometheus) titled This Joyful Eastertide. He has put it out in e-book format, available here. It is a long and at times taxing process to work through the kind of obfuscation and circular reasoning inherent
Started off with a brief discussion about this amazing and sad story about the degradation of our culture. Then moved on to the Veritas “exoneration” of Ergun Caner, and then moved back to the Slick/Sungenis discussion, in particular, on the issue of tradition and Scripture.
Delivered by my fellow elder Don Fry at PRBC on the Lord’s day. Angel took a brief vacation (actually, he’s busy teaching the munchkins at his church), but Tuesday’s DL stirred the creative juices, and when that happens….well, look out! If the above makes no sense to you, you 1) didn’t listen to the BAM debate and hear question after
Well, we tried, but no Miki today! So, no uproarious entertainment, but still three great calls, all on the same topic, Roman Catholicism. We talked a lot about church history, doctrine, dogma, debates–you name it. Even addressed the “why you don’t invest time with Robert Sungenis anymore” question. It would be a great program for all my critics over at
I did the DL today: but there is no recording of it. Sorry! Rich was sick, I had only a few minutes to try to set everything up and do it all myself, and I simply forgot to start the recording before the program began. I probably should have just used that hour for something more useful anyway, I guess!
The Christian should be passionate about the Trinity, as following Tota Scriptura will inevitablely lead to believing in the Trinity, one being of God in three persons. Most objections to the Trinity confound the categories of being and person, and Jehovah’s Witnesses have a deeply entrenched presupposition of Unitarianism that must ignore texts that demonstrate the deity of Christ.
Yesterday I began replying to the comments found in the May, 2005 “Partners in Grace” publication from the Grace Evangelical Society. I conclude my remarks in this entry. Wilkin noted: He criticized me for being overly concerned about works-salvation. I responded by saying that the reason he wasn’t overly concerned about works-salvation is because his view of faith is works-salvation.
