The Fullness of Time, America’s Hate Preachers Reviewed

Took a long while to get going (technically and otherwise) but eventually got into Galatians 4:4-5 as an incarnation passage and its meaning to us at this time of the year.  Then we moved over to a quick review of a couple of segments of the BBS documentary “America’s Hate Preachers” and what it means to “adorn the doctrine” of God our Savior.  Hopefully helpful thoughts before this special weekend.

Bob Morey’s Debate Challenge, Frank Turek and Michael Brown on Reformed Issues

Spent a little less than half an hour responding to Dr. Robert Morey’s debate challenge (well, I’ve only been told about it, I haven’t actually seen it), giving some history and once again refocusing upon the real issues.  Then we looked at Dr. Frank Turek’s response to a question about free will and predestination, and then moved on to Dr. Michael Brown’s comments on John 6:37.  A little over 90 minutes for the program today.

Andy Stanley Separates Incarnation and Redemption; Paul Falsely Accused; Tim Staples Reviewed

Started off considering Andy Stanley’s claim that Christianity does not stand on how Jesus came into the world, only on the resurrection.  Then we looked at Paul’s statements in 1 Thessalonians 4 and 1 Corinthians 9 as a backdrop to considering common accusations against Paul made by Islamic apologists.  Then in the second hour we spent a good deal of time listening to Tim Staples making numerous common claims for the Roman Catholic Church, noting that history, and the Bible, is a real problem for Rome’s claims.  A full two hours today!

Radio Free Geneva: The SBC Traditionalists Struggle to Interact

Spent most of our time playing an attempted response from Leighton Flowers to our last program, and then played some more of David Allen’s comments, including some pretty amazing examples of eisegesis and category errors.  Numerous head-shaking moments in this one to be sure!  I also mentioned we have three over-seas trips scheduled for 2017, so we need your help, with the first to South Africa coming up in March!  Please help if you can!

At the end of the show, Rich played a sample of Tim Bushong’s, A Mighty Fortress. Tim has released a Christmas album that, jarringly I’m sure for some, includes the full version of the Mighty Fortress riff he did for us. And you can get that album either as a cd or as a download (and help his daughter on a missions trip) at various links, such as here, here, and here.
