Had to do a Jumbo (90 minute) edition of the DL today to fit it all in.  First half was all in response to Let the Lion Roar and the accompanying book.  Had many things to discuss–can’t say it was overly well organized, but hopefully helpful.  Then moved on to a Puritan Board discussion about me and the textual critical issue.

Tomorrow we will move the DL from 2pm EDT to 7pm EDT. I’m heading to Tampa on Wednesday, speaking Thursday and Friday in Brandon, flying red-eye back, and then flying to Southern California for a big Reformed Baptist gathering on the Lord’s Day in celebration of the Reformation. I’ll be speaking about six times over the course of this trip

Talked a little about Muslim persecution of Christians in Sudan, then looked briefly at Titus 2:11ff for balance in the grace/obedience issue, then took calls on a wide variety of topics including the Trinity, John’s gospel, and more. Here is the YouTube link:

We continued our examination of two recent programs on The Deen Show featuring “Christian scholar” Dr. Laurence Brown. I intended to finish the complete program where he gave his Top Ten reasons against the Trinity, but lo and behold, the sound file I created of the program cut off before the end! So I will finish that up on Thursday.

We continued our review of the September 8th sermon by Dr. Steve Gaines, examining whether his simple foreknowledge view can really withstand scrutiny, and also noting the disastrous results of refusing to recognize the difference between the prescriptive will of God and the decretive will of God.  We might be able to finish this sermon off with one more program, as
