Started off reviewing a call on Catholic Answers Live regarding Purgatory, providing a bit more information than was offered by Jimmy Akin. Then we watched a clip with Ravi Zacharias answering a question about Roman Catholicism, briefly played William Lane Craig on original sin, and then finished up with the famous cross-examination of Peter Stravinskas on 1 Cor. 3. Continued our response to Trent Horn’s “Protestant Distortions of Church History” lecture from 2019, delving into the Didache, priesthood, and Irenaeus, and likewise discussing proposed debate topics with Catholic Answers.
Today I did my very first Mega DL. In this episode we review the remainder of this debate. This includes the rebuttal period along with the cross examination that followed and then finishing with opening statements. The two presentations could not have been farther apart. Spent the first 3/4 of the program on current developments primarily related to the use of homosexuality as a cultural bludgeon to silence Christians—focusing on the Giglio debacle from last week, and the Steve Chalke abandonment of biblical morality and ethics as well. Then we spent the last 15 minutes on some comments made by Ergun and Emir Caner in
Dr. White took advantage of his sickness by hosting a trivia game in which callers could win books for correct answers. Questions covered Jehovah’s Witnesses, LDS, Roman Catholics, Oneness Pentecostals, and the Bible. Rich Pierce manned the sound effects board.
