I wasn’t going to spend nearly the entire program reviewing the Ham/Nye debate, but that’s what I ended up doing.  In the process we figured out the best analogy for Nye’s attitude toward Kentuckians: that of Riker to the Pakleds on Star Trek the Next Generation!  We even played a clip for those who are not familiar with that, uh,

Started off with the Ally/Licona debate for about the first twenty minutes or so, then took two calls, one regarding Robert Price and the text of the NT (Dan Wallace’s comments that started the call here) and then from Frank in Dallas on doctrinal certainty in light of Roman Catholic claims.

Started off looking at this “chart” published at SBCToday and noting that, well, there won’t be much progress in pursuing the truth of these matters as long as one side refuses to accurately represent the other, that’s for sure!  Then I reviewed comments here by Cheryl Schatz regarding John 6:37, and her particular way of undercutting John 6’s testimony to

We lost our server for the first 14 minutes, but ol’ got us back up and running. Pierre, our LDS listener, called in, prompted once again to defend our Arminian friends by yesterday’s program responding to Dr. O’Guin’s attack on “Calvinism.” Always interesting to listen to a discussion with Pierre on soteriological issues, always coming back to sola scriptura.

Back in January of 2011 I taught a module in Owensboro at the Midwest Center for Theological Studies.
