Jumped all over the place today, to be honest, on a number of topics. One was my insistence that you need to buy and actually read, or listen to, Abigail Shrier’s Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters. I can’t recommend it too highly, even though it is not a Christian work, and hence cannot provide the final answers.
Going almost a full two hours today was pretty easy, given how much I needed to catch up on! Did nearly a full hour on Matthew Vines’ comments about me from a recent Google video, then played a clip from NT Wright on predestination and election, then I addressed my Muslim friends, and finished up going back to the issue
Took calls mainly on the Caner situation and likewise looked a little bit at the Jerry Vines sermon at First Baptist Woodstock, a sermon that will definitely give us a lengthy series of Radio Free Geneva programs. However, it looks like there is only one template out there for anti-Calvinism sermons, even repeating the same errors (like misquoting Matthew 23:37).
Sorry folks…we were all set up and ready to go when our primary webcasting program’s configuration file evidently became corrupted and…boom, need to reset it and build it back up from the ground, I guess (I have no idea how to do the stuff on the technical end, not that I don’t do technical stuff, but I am sorta focused
Started off with stories about California and Michigan pressing the woke gender ideology that is a plague upon us all. Then, finally, as promised almost two weeks ago, I got to Leighton Flowers and his “Calvinists cannot answer Colossians 2:12” argument and discovered that in fact it seems it is the Provisionists who have to struggle with that particular text.
Read, and fully responded to, a rebuke from Christian brothers and sisters based upon an article (which I also read) about the need to do history seriously, without imposing lenses and filters that fundamentally distort it. Addressed a number of issues that came up over the weekend regarding the explosion of social justice revolution in the world, and its inconsistency
