Full Response to Thabiti Anyabwile on Colossians and Related Topics, Open Phones
James White, , Christian Worldview, Exegesis, Pastoral Theology, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
Spent over an hour working through the latest response from Thabiti Anyabwile focusing especially on the exegetical and theological issues, but not only them. Watched as a Twitter storm took place during the program—a storm I will not be investing the time in going back to read. Then we turned to the phones and had a few calls on similar

Bart Ehrman/Newsweek Article
James White, , The Dividing Line
Started off following up on the Bart Ehrman/Newsweek article (I had been on the Janet Mefferd Show this afternoon on the same topic), responded to some claims from Sami Zaatari from a recent debate with David Wood, and took a couple of calls, one on sanctification and one on Hebrews 6 and the perfection of Christ as Savior. And don’t

The Human Genome
James White, , The Dividing Line
Covered some important topics today. Started with this article on the human genome and the fact that life…really is life! Great stuff. Then discussed the amazing response an evil-saturated society produces to anyone who says something moral (related to this story), then we discussed a story about Muhammad and his wives, then took quite a while to respond to Roger

Micro-Aggression Worship Songs, Tweets from the MLK50 Conference, Ehrman on the Gospel Writers, Open Phones
James White, , Christian Worldview, Exegesis, General Apologetics, Gospel/Jesus Studies, Mormonism, Reformed Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, Textual Issues, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
Covered a number of odd things coming out of the MLK50 Conference, including a “worship song” that included the concept of “micro-aggressions” (just finding a way to put that tongue stopper in a line of music deserves credit!) and a tweet insisting that “White Evangelicalism” (whatever that is) “owes” the “black community” monetary investment. Then we got back to the

Zach Lambert’s Sermon, “Homophobia and Transphobia,” Response Part 1
James White, , Homosexuality, Pastoral Theology, Post-Evangelicalism, The Dividing Line, Transinsanity
As promised I began playing the entirety of Zach Lambert’s sermon, preached early last year, about “Homophobia and Transphobia.” He had linked to it as representative of his position, and in the opening of the sermon he says he spent more time preparing for that sermon than any other, so it seems fair to address it. It is a classic

A Multi-Faceted Dividing Line
James White, , Abortion, Christian Worldview, Church Fathers, Church History, Debate, Exegesis, Homosexuality, Pastoral Theology, Personal, Post-Evangelicalism, Reformed Baptist Issues, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters, Thomism
Covered a wide variety of things yet again on the program today, so a little something for everyone. Started off with the new Roman Catholic apologetics book against Scripture titled, “The Obscurity of Scripture,” and talked a bit about the obscurity not of Scripture, but of Rome itself. We also spent some time reading through Schaff’s discussion of Pope Honorius.
