Romans 15:13, 1 Tim 4, Heb 7:24 and ἀπαράβατον, Church History without Racial Quotas

Started off with a lengthy discussion of the great text in Romans 15:13, then moved on to 1 Timothy 4:1-3 in light of the current situation in Rome.  Then looked very closely at the meaning of ἀπαράβατον at Hebrews 7:23-24 in light of a Mormon attempt to get around its meaning.  Finally closed out with a few comments on the teaching of church history and the attempt on the part of some to insert some kind of “racial quotas” into that difficult and challenging subject.

Gorgeous Goatskin Greek New Testaments, 3 Mormons, Open Phones

Started off showing off my new Nestle-Aland 28th Edition Large Print Greek New Testament as rebound in gorgeous turquoise Italian goatskin by Post Tenebras Lux Bible Rebinding, run by Jeffrey Rice.  I had Jeffrey call in and talk with me about his work. Now, I know some will think I am just causing everyone else to covet, but, I know my audience is probably really into super well done Bible rebinding, so I just wanted everyone to see what could be done. It truly is beautiful!  Then we talked a little bit about the lengthy Twitter thread I posted today regarding John MacArthur’s initial comments on ethnicity and the gospel, looked at a few more minutes from the 3 Mormons, and then took calls, including a lengthy (ten minute) discussion from a recent convert to Romanism on sola scriptura.

Mega Edition of the Dividing Line: Andy Stanley, 3 Mormons, and a Bit More

Spent nearly an hour and 20 minutes listening to and interacting with the discussion between Jonathan Merritt and Andy Stanley at the beginning of the program. Dr. Albert Mohler spent a solid ten minutes on the same exchange on this morning’s edition of The Briefing (recommended).  Then we moved over to playing some clips from a YouTube channel called 3Mormons, discussing the LDS doctrine of God. The last few minutes I addressed recent activity in social media.  Just over two hours in length today!

Deedat, Adam Hamilton, ERLC, and the Pope

Started today’s program off listening to a clip from The Deen Show presenting a 4 minute twisting of Matthew 7 by the late Ahmed Deedat. Then we listened to a few minutes of a sermon by Adam Hamilton at the 2018 Uniting Methodists Conference on having a “high view of Scripture” and yet accepting the profaning of marriage. Then we moved on to the ERLC “woops” video with the Roman Catholic vegan professor, and finished up looking at the Pope’s changing of the Catechism of the Catholic Church regarding the death penalty.  Another wide ranging program!
